Test substance & medical diets
Medications or compounds supplied by the investigator are referred to as “customer supplied ingredients” or “customer reserves,” and they can be added to most diets. Generally, if the stability or activity of the compound is not compromised during manufacturing or further processing such as irradiation, adding an ingredient can be a smart option for simplifying your feeding and medicating schedules. Also, the inclusion rate of any given compound is adjusted to suit the needs, and can be determined in consultation with our expert nutritional staff.
Most common customer supplied compounds include:
- Cuprizone
- Tamoxifen
- Purified fatty acids (DHA, EPA)
- Curcumin
- Rosiglitazone
- Statins
- Antibiotics
- Valproate
- Piroxicam
- Berry powders
- Bisphenol
When adding a compound to a diet, KLIBA NAFAG works with you to be sure that it is appropriate for our diet formulation procedures and can be done safely.
Test substance
For the administration of a test substance in a natural and stress-free way, there is the possibility of supplementing the usual food. KLIBA NAFAG adds a tiny amount of active substances, homogeneously mixed in very precise doses to the basic food normally used as standard food for detention.
Medicated feed
KLIBA NAFAG holds the permission and GMP certification of the Swiss Institute for Therapeutic Products (Swissmedic) to provide its customers with medicines, such as antiparasitics, to mix with the food recipe.
